Get to know Ed

Nuvomarine, the marine electric/electronics arm of Nuvoworks, LLC, is the combination of Ed Baker’s love for all things electric and his love of the water. He spent many years in Utah on the lakes in the summers. In the winter, he served on the National Ski Patrol in Park City, Utah, and as a heliski guide for Diamond Peaks out of Huntsville, Utah. (Hence the 435 area code in his phone number.) He made the jump from the mountains to the sea in 2014 when he moved to Florida to serve as Captain on an 80 foot catamaran for 3 years. Ed was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and arrived back here in 2017. He lives with his partner, ¬†Jeanie, on their 1985 S2 11C sailboat. (Moguls, their dog-with-superpowers pictured here with Ed, sailed under the rainbow bridge in 2018 after 17-1/2 years serving as crew.)

We appreciate Ed's easy-going professional attitude. He installed our Wi-Fi system, showed us how to use it for our cruising plans, and made it fun!

Ed was referred to my by a boatyard and it was great to have him come to my boat and install the new electronics. It was so convenient having him come to my boat.

We needed some electronic upgrades including a new chart plotter, and then decided to upgrade the battery and charging system. Ed made it easy for us and made it all work simply.

The security I feel having the boat shore power set up correctly was worth every penny. Ed spent more hours on the boat than he charged me for, and I really appreciated it. He even showed me how to make sure it was working correctly in the future.
